For CrossFit coaches

CrossFit coaching software for individual athletes and gym classes

Strength Academy has a WOD builder with nine formats, from For Time and AMRAP to EMOM and chippers, and every movement gets an Rx and a scaled version. Athletes choose their version, run the timer on their phone and log the score. If you run a gym, the same account plans your classes and records class scores.

The coach’s week on a phone: small group sessions, programming time, a group class and a client’s program ending

How to coach CrossFit in Strength Academy

  1. Write the WOD

Pick the format: For Time, Rounds For Time, AMRAP, EMOM, Intervals, Chipper, Ladder, Strength or Benchmark. Set the time cap, rounds or work and rest, then add movements from the library of weightlifting, gymnastics and cardio movements, or add your own.

  2. Give every movement an Rx and a scaled version

Each movement carries an Rx and a scaled prescription with men’s and women’s loads, in kilograms or pounds. Women’s loads and calories follow the men’s by a set ratio unless you type them in.

  3. Athletes log the score

On their phone the athlete chooses Rx or scaled, starts the timer and logs the result: a time (or that they hit the cap), rounds and reps, total reps, load, calories or distance. The score type follows the format you picked.

  4. Run your classes from the same account

Plan a class, put it on the gym screen with the timer, and record scores for the class, labelled Rx or scaled. Members can enter their own scores too. Classes, drop-ins, class packs and memberships are on every coach plan.

What your CrossFit athletes log

Each score is saved with the version the athlete chose, so you can tell an Rx time from a scaled one. The CrossFit tab on each client shows how their training splits between gymnastics, weightlifting and cardio, and planned against completed reps.

A sample CrossFit week

An example five-day week for an intermediate athlete, entered the way you would build it: a strength piece, then the WOD. Adjust the loads and volume to the athlete.

Monday
Back squat 5 × 3 at 80%. Then a 12-minute AMRAP: 10 wall balls, 10 box jumps, 10-calorie row.
Tuesday
Pull-up and handstand skill work. Then 21-15-9 thrusters and pull-ups for time, 8-minute cap.
Wednesday
30 minutes easy on the rower or bike, then mobility.
Thursday
Power clean 6 × 2. Then a 16-minute EMOM: 12-calorie bike, 10 toes-to-bar, 8 dumbbell snatches, rest.
Friday
Chipper for time, 25-minute cap: 50 double-unders, 40 kettlebell swings, 30 burpees, 20 deadlifts, 10 muscle-ups.
