Last updated: 28 January 2026
Strength Academy SARL ("Strength Academy", "we", "us", or "our") is a company incorporated in Switzerland that provides a digital platform dedicated to sports training programming, performance tracking, nutrition management, mobility assessment, and online coaching through its website and web application available at https://strengthacademy.app (the "Platform").
We place great importance on the protection of your personal data and are committed to processing it in accordance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where applicable, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, and share your personal information when you access or use the Platform as an athlete ("Client") or as a professional coach ("Coach").
By creating an account or using the Platform, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.
This Privacy Policy should be read together with our Terms of Service.
1. Information We Collect
We collect personal data in order to operate, improve, and personalize the services offered on the Platform. The nature of the data collected depends on your role and how you interact with the Platform.
When you create an account as an athlete, we collect identification and account information such as your name, email address, password (stored in encrypted form), profile picture, and date of birth. To enable training, mobility, performance tracking, and nutrition-related features, you may also voluntarily provide health and physical data, including body weight, height, body composition indicators, mobility test results, pain or discomfort areas, injury-related information, activity levels, and training performance metrics. These data are considered sensitive personal data under applicable data protection laws and are processed only on the basis of your explicit consent, which you may withdraw at any time.
The Platform also allows athletes to enter nutrition-related information, including dietary objectives, caloric targets, macronutrient goals, food logs, and descriptions of meals. You may also upload photographs of meals for nutritional analysis. In addition, athletes may upload user-generated content such as training videos, progress photos, written comments, and messages in private or group community chats.
When you make a purchase on the Platform, we collect transaction-related information such as the products purchased, subscription details, and payment status. Strength Academy does not store full credit card numbers. All payment transactions are processed securely by our third-party payment service provider Stripe.
When you create an account as a coach, we collect professional and business-related information, including your name, email address, profile photo, professional biography, certifications, and contact details. We also process the content you create on the Platform, such as training programs, exercise libraries, feedback provided to athletes, and communications with clients. For payout purposes, we collect financial information such as bank account identifiers (IBAN/SWIFT), which are processed through Stripe Connect.
In addition to information you provide directly, we automatically collect certain technical and usage data when you access the Platform. This may include your IP address, device type, operating system, browser type, access dates and times, log files, and information about how you interact with the Platform. We also use cookies and similar technologies to ensure the proper functioning of the Platform, maintain user sessions, remember preferences, and analyze usage patterns. You may manage cookie preferences through your browser settings, although disabling cookies may affect certain features.
2. How We Use Your Information
We process your personal data to provide and operate the Platform and its various functionalities. This includes creating and managing user accounts, generating training calendars, tracking athletic performance, visualizing progress through charts and statistics, calculating mobility scores, and delivering personalized nutrition targets.
Your data is also used to enable coaching features, including allowing designated coaches to access relevant athlete information such as training logs, uploaded videos, nutrition data, mobility results, and declared pain areas, in order to provide feedback and guidance. Communication features, such as private messaging and group discussions within the community space, also rely on the processing of personal data.
Certain features of the Platform rely on artificial intelligence technologies, particularly for nutrition tracking. When you upload a meal photo, the image is analyzed to identify food items and estimate caloric and macronutrient values. These features are provided for informational and tracking purposes only and do not constitute medical or dietary advice.
We also process personal data for payment and financial management purposes, including processing purchases, managing subscriptions, distributing revenues to coaches, issuing invoices, and handling refunds where applicable.
Additionally, we use data to ensure the security and integrity of the Platform, to detect and prevent fraud or misuse, to provide customer support, to troubleshoot technical issues, and to comply with applicable legal and regulatory obligations.
3. Sharing of Personal Data
Strength Academy does not sell your personal data.
When you enroll in a training program, connect with a coach, or participate in coaching services, you explicitly consent to the sharing of relevant personal data with that specific coach. This may include your profile information, training history, performance metrics, nutrition logs, mobility data, uploaded videos, and communications. Coaches operate as independent users of the Platform and may be subject to their own legal obligations regarding personal data processing. Strength Academy is not responsible for how coaches process personal data outside of the Platform.
We may share personal data with trusted third-party service providers who act as data processors on our behalf and only for the purposes necessary to deliver the services. These providers may include cloud hosting and infrastructure providers, video storage services, artificial intelligence service providers such as Anthropic (Claude) and OpenAI, payment processors such as Stripe, and email or notification service providers. All such providers are contractually bound to process data in accordance with our instructions and to implement appropriate security measures.
We may also disclose personal data where required to do so by law, regulation, court order, or other valid legal process, or where necessary to protect our rights, users, or the security of the Platform.
4. Artificial Intelligence and Automated Processing
The Platform uses artificial intelligence services provided by third parties — Anthropic (the Claude API) and OpenAI — to power its AI features. AI features are off by default and only activate after you give explicit consent in the app (the first time you open an AI feature, or in Profile → Settings → AI features). You can withdraw this consent at any time in the same settings, after which AI processing for your account stops, including automatically generated content.
Depending on the feature you use, the following data is transmitted securely to the AI provider for processing: meal photo analysis (OpenAI) — the food image you upload; athlete intelligence, snapshots and stories (OpenAI) — your training history (exercises, sets, reps, weights, rep maxes), recovery and readiness metrics including data synced from Apple Health, and your chat messages; technique video analysis (Anthropic Claude) — still frames extracted from the technique videos you choose to analyze; coach assistant ("Jarvis") and programming analysis (Anthropic Claude) — for coaches, summaries of their athletes' training state, schedules, and business data, together with the coach's requests. The providers process this data only to return the requested analysis; we do not permit them to use it to train their models under our agreements with them.
You are responsible for ensuring that uploaded images and videos do not contain faces of third parties, identifiable individuals who have not consented, or sensitive personal information unrelated to the analysis. AI-generated outputs are estimates and informational only — they are not medical, therapeutic, or dietary advice and may not be fully accurate.
5. Data Storage and International Transfers
Personal data is primarily stored on servers located in Paris and/or within the European Economic Area. Some of our service providers may process data in other countries, including the United States. Where personal data is transferred outside Switzerland or the EEA, we ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place, such as Standard Contractual Clauses or other legally recognized transfer mechanisms, in compliance with applicable data protection laws.
6. Data Retention
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy. Personal data is generally retained for the duration of your account. If you choose to delete your account, your personal data will be deleted or anonymized from our active systems within approximately 30 days, unless retention is required to comply with legal obligations. Financial and accounting records may be retained for up to 10 years in accordance with Swiss legal requirements.
7. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include encrypted communications, access controls, and secure storage practices. However, no system can guarantee absolute security, and you acknowledge that you use the Platform at your own risk.
8. Children's Privacy
The Platform is intended primarily for individuals aged 18 and over. Users between the ages of 13 and 17 may use the Platform only with the consent and involvement of a parent or legal guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age of 13. If we become aware that such data has been collected, we will take steps to delete it promptly.
9. Your Rights
Depending on your place of residence and applicable law, you may have the right to access your personal data, request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data, request deletion of your data, object to or restrict certain processing activities, request data portability, and withdraw your consent at any time. Requests to exercise these rights may be submitted by contacting us at info@strengthacademy.app. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a competent data protection authority.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. Any material changes will be communicated through the Platform or by email. Continued use of the Platform after the effective date of an updated policy constitutes acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
