Strength Academy vs TrueCoach
Strength Academy and TrueCoach both deliver online coaching, but they differ in three ways coaches feel immediately: Strength Academy has flat monthly pricing instead of per-client pricing, a true periodization builder (macro, meso and micro cycles) instead of week-by-week calendars, and a full business layer — coach website, email marketing, booking and payments — built in.
TrueCoach is one of the most established coaching apps, known for a clean, fast workflow for delivering workouts and messaging clients.
Where Strength Academy is different
Flat pricing instead of per-client pricing
TrueCoach charges by client count, so your software bill grows every time your roster does. Strength Academy plans are flat: Strength Academy coach plans are flat-priced — Starter from CHF 39.50/month, Advanced from CHF 55.50/month and Elite from CHF 85.50/month (billed in CHF, USD, EUR or GBP) — with a free trial and no per-client charges. A coach going from 15 to 40 clients pays Strength Academy exactly the same amount.
Real periodization, not just a workout calendar
Coaches who program seriously — weightlifting, powerlifting, S&C — told us the same thing: TrueCoach is a delivery calendar, not a periodization tool. Strength Academy structures programs as macro, meso and micro cycles with 16 session types, reusable template weeks, progression rules, supersets and complexes, so a 12-week block is built the way you actually plan it.
The business layer is included
With TrueCoach you still need separate tools for a website, email campaigns and call booking. Strength Academy includes a drag-and-drop coach website builder with lead capture, an email marketing hub with audience segments, an automations engine (welcome messages, PR celebrations, inactivity nudges, review requests), session booking with Stripe payments and calendar sync, and a revenue dashboard.
Athlete health data your programming can use
Strength Academy athletes log readiness (sleep, fatigue, stress), pain on a body heatmap, mobility scores and wearable data from Strava, Polar, Garmin, WHOOP and Oura — next to their training, in the same app. TrueCoach covers habit tracking and basic metrics; the recovery and pain picture lives elsewhere.
