DOTS calculator
DOTS compares powerlifting totals across bodyweights, so a 60 kg lifter and a 120 kg lifter can be ranked on one list.
DOTS = total × 500 ÷ (a × BW⁴ + b × BW³ + c × BW² + d × BW + e), with separate coefficients for men and women.
Example: a man weighing 90 kg with a 700 kg total scores 452.6 DOTS.

Coefficients by bodyweight for men and women, with both formulas and their sources.
The formula
DOTS = total × 500 ÷ (a × BW⁴ + b × BW³ + c × BW² + d × BW + e)
- BW is bodyweight in kg. Below 40 kg, or above 210 kg for men and 150 kg for women, the nearest limit is used, as OpenPowerlifting does.
- The total is the best successful squat, bench press and deadlift from one meet. A missed lift adds nothing.

Common questions
- Is DOTS the same as Wilks or IPF GL points?
- No. Each one uses its own formula, so their numbers cannot be compared. The IPF ranks its lifters with its own GL points.
- Why does my DOTS score differ from another calculator?
- Check the bodyweight first, since small changes move the score. Some calculators also skip the bodyweight limits or round the coefficients.
- Which total goes into DOTS?
- The sum of the best successful squat, bench press and deadlift from one meet, in kilograms.
